Your Blog As The Information Provider

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with 3:16 team REALTY ~ Locally-owned Prosper TX Real Estate Co. #9001154

No one googles your name when he/she search for local real estate information. They also do not google your name when they want to work with a local real estate expert.

So, what do they do?

They might google:

        the name of your city
the name of a local home builder
        or
the name of a local neighborhood

So, the secret is out. If you are the information voice to the information they want, they eventually FIND you. (Hint: tags are important)

Here's another blog that I want to resurrect as Part II to this blog: Google Analytics. It is about understanding the keywords of how people are finding you. As a result of this, you might want to do more of the things you are reaping and start improving those you think need help on. Google Analytics is a free sign up and it is as simple as inserting it into the pages you want to track/ study. If you have a template website, you might contact your web provider to insert the codes for you.

Your blog can be the information provider your client is looking for. Now, blog all about them and see how it really works!

Much to your success...

Note: All contents are original. Consider subscribing to my blog for fresh business ideas, often creative and unique. It is my intentions to bring you effective blog contents that will could make you feel that it was worth your time to subscribe.

I work on a lake and have always used Lake Sinclair as my web site name, log on name, tags.  That is the term I know people are searching for when looking for property in my little nic of the woods.  You've got some great advice here.  Thanks

Loreena,

Great post.  Blogging is like fishing and choosing the right bait.  The fishing pole is the appropriate topics that the local consumer may be searching for on the web, and the bait the appropriate keywords used to discover those topics.  Always make sure there is a link back to your website and way to search for homes on every blog post.  Going back to fishing...

HI LOREENA!

What an awesome post.  My favorite part of this post is the innovative way you market yourself.  If I were a consumer buying or selling in TX, I would hurry to call you to hear about the "systematic approach that most agents do not use."  ...definitely something that would catch my eye.  BRAVO!!!

in addition to Google Analytics, I recommend Clicky... same idea, but a better interface and HitTail.  Hit Tail tells you how people are getting there and actually suggests topics.

You are so right! I do believe they google your name after being introduced to it! (or upon our suggestion) and it is always a good idea to google yourself (or set up Google Alerts).

You do need to keep an eye out on those other search terms people are using though! Good reminder!

Congrats on the gold star! This is a great post. But I wanted to point out one thing. I get a lot of listings from my blog. Most people get buyers, but I get listings. This is what I want, so I'm not complaining! But there's a chance that some of them searched my name, since I switched brokerages last year. Just a thought =)  But you're right. Most people are not searching by name!

Great post!  What is everyone using out there for tags that are getting them placed up high on google?  I've experimented a lot.  Some work, some don't.  Any specific ideas anyone can help with? Thanks in advance.
