WOW, they did it. With or without the help of the New York Yankees, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have made history, going from last place, (last year) to first place in 2008 and as the American League East Division Champions are now a contender to play for a chance to become World Champions.
With their Magic Number at 1, on Friday evening, they struggled against the Tigers, however, the Yankees beat Boston to allow the Rays to clinch their spot in history. After another loss on Saturady, they won on Sunday showing us, the fans, that they weren't giving up.
Late Monday afternoon, there will be a celebration at St. Petersburg's Straub Park on the waterfront. All are welcome. The team players will make an appearance, as well as you have a chance to purchase Rays' merchandise. There will also be give-aways. And a FREE concert by Survivor. Hope to see you there!
The Rays will now take on either the Twins from Minnesota or the Chicago white Sox on Thursday.. GO RAYS.
