A few weeks ago we went camping just outside Silverton at Silver Falls State Park, and I have to say, one of the most beautiful places on Earth. I will have many more pictures coming in the next couple weeks. But, today is about the history of a little town outside of Salem.
Silverton, Oregon, is a small community that is rich in History. Despite its small size it has had many famous residents: Clark Gabel, Don Pettit (Astronaut), and Homer Davenport (Famous Political Cartoonist from the early 1900s), and Johnny Pesky (Red Sox baseball).
Each room at the museum has its own theme and each item has a story. There is the class room, doctor's office, sports room and even what I called the fabric room. The fabric room showed some amazing dresses made by the lady who made the dresses for many of the 1st ladies for the inaugural ball for some 40 years.
Here are many of the pictures from our day at the museum, I suggest if you have some time, take a trip to this amazing little town with so much history.
