The Big Water Fall Festival runs from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Utah time which is 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Arizona time. (yes the time difference is interesting to live with in the Lake Powell Arizona Utah area!)

Thanks goes out to Jennie and Peggy for the effort it takes to put on these events every year. They are much appreciated by the community. All proceeds will benefit the Big Water School.

Fall is one of the fun things about living in the Lake Powell area.

Heather, it sounds like a lot of fun!  I was surprised that I hadn't heard of this festival prior to your blog.  By the way, it was great meeting you last Thursday at the Brokers Council Training!

Tony and Darcy ~ Great meeting you guys as well!

The festival, as well as Bird Day, have always been pretty local events, but have been drawing folks from Page the last couple of years.

The Page Fall Festival Season starts now as well. Their main one is the week after the Big Water festival. Will post flier on that soon.

Sharon ~ Will do. Fall is pretty here, tho, admittedly, we don't have the huge color change on the leaves. One day they are here and green, and the next they are gone. However, the weather here the last two weeks of Sept and the first two weeks of Oct just can't get any better.

Do you enter the hula event?  And isn't it cold with grass skirts this time of year?

Andrew - Ok, i am actually laughing here. Thank you! No, I am not enterting the hula event and no - it is still hot here - almost 90 today, a few high clouds and a slight breeze from the south :-)

Julie - Yes there really is something for everyone. In years gone by, when it was held at town hall, our band, Sage, played for it as well. With the change of venue, there's not a good place to set up, out of the weather. I'm going to post the Fall Festival that occurs in Page, AZ at the end of the month soon. Cheers!

I travel from my home in Idaho Falls Idaho to Vernal Utah to work and I seem to be out of town when things are happening in either town :(  The fall activites everywhere look fun.

Heather -  I love these type of fesitivals.. I will be missing my Kid Fishing Day tomorrow since I am taking a trip up to Payson, Arizona. This sounds fun! Can you believe all the years (35 yrs) in AZ, I've been to Lake Powell only once and that was not to swim or boat. It was just an overnight to see the grand canyon area and visit with a sister traveling through! I hear it's beautiful to boat on!! One day I hope!  Love to see some follow up pictures!

Julie - That is not fun at all. I've missed a couple of these over the years but really make it a point to catch them. It's good to see all the kids around enjoying some ole' fashioned fun - even as they are taking pictures on their cell phones and texting LOL

Candace - Boating on Lake Powell is almost "other worldly". If you headquarter out of Page, plan on spending a couple of days on the lake, do a boat tour to Rainbow Bridge or do the Navajo Tapestry tour wich is less time but goes up in slot canyons. Also, a walking tour to Slot Canyon, aka Corkscrew, is sure worth it. One of the most photographed natural places on the planet. You know, we really are not THAT far away LOL
