Getting points!!

By
Real Estate Agent with M and T property management LLC

I have no idea of how I get points on some things. What are Invite points, linking points, bonus points, and other points? I have looked at others profiles and some have huge numbers in those sections. I wanted to know if someone could help me understand how to get and use these things. Please help I would love to hear back from you.

Matt the MARINE says sound off, and let me hear what you think.

The guys described them well. I just added you points by rating your blog. That's another way of earning them too. If someone rates your blog.

Welcome! and best of luck!

The invite points are significant, because you earn 10% of all the points from people you've invited.  As their numbers get higher, yours will grow as well.  Continue commenting on other blogs (10 per day earn you 25 each).  Continue blogging (10 per week will earn you 200 each).  That's 3750 just in one week.  You can also add photos and communities to Localism.com, the point structure for those is broken down by how many of each you contribute.  Pick a city and to the left of the screen will be an area to click on for info on that city, when you click on it, you will be taken to the site to upload photos and communities.  Warning-the site can become very addictive and keep you from other activities. LOL  Hope this helps!

Do not do what a lot of point (******) do. They simple copy and paste.

Here is how you can get 1000 points in a couple of hours:

Matthew - there are some great tips in these comments, especially in the link Jeff provided for you.  And more people ought to pay heed to what Mike Parks just wrote in his comment.  Copying and pasting is surely not the way to do things here in AR.  Some people insist on it, but that's not what blogging is all about, and people quickly realize that it's copy and paste and move on fast.

Have fun writing and enjoy being part of Active Rain!

Ensure that your websites are linked to ActiveRain and invite as many people as you can.  I invite any out of area agents that call me.  I haven't picked up any big bloggers yet....but I'm hopeful!

You can make points by inviting new members to join this great net work, you can also add communities to localism and commenting on other peoples blogs you make points also, also writing your own stories and blogging them to groups and when peolple comment on them you get points as well, when you blog gets selected as a featured blog you get points as well, i think people here are here to help each other and i hope you will find this helpful an we welcome you to this forum. Good luck.

I did a combination of what everybody is doing.  Invite, post, do market reports, all of the above.  For example I am leaving this comment as well.  Have a great day and best of blogging to you!!!

That was a good question and you got lots of great answers that will help me too. Don't forget to add as much information on your profile to get the most points from it. For example just adding testimonials from past clients gets you additional points!

I fall into the category of not caring about points, and being featured. What I like about AR is the many new things I learn about this industry that I have been in for over 23 years. I am happy to make comments on posts that I enjoy and I blog to stay up with the times. I am happy to say that I was a feature post one time.

Good Luck.
