I have been asked by several Real Estate agents and people in the community this week if Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group is still able to lend money. The answer is YES!!!!! The media, in all the turmoil with the finance industry, has made a lot of people think that noone can get a mortgage. This is absolutely NOT TRUE! The truth of the matter is that lending has gotten back to where it should be. Borrowers have to have decent credit history, 2 year rental OR good mortgage history and be employed in the same line of work for at least 2 years. If you haven't paid your bills on time in the past, you probably will not get a mortgage. Our company still has the ability to do loans up to 103% for qualified borrows. The media has some believing that if you can get a mortgage, you have to put up to 20% down. This is also not true.

It is a great time to buy in the Roanoke Valley. We need to get the word out so people will not be scared and will buy and sell to help our economy.

Thanks for the post. I think mortgage lenders need to be getting the word out any way they can about this subject. Realtors are trying but I think people need to here it from the mortgage lenders.

Aloha Robin. . . Thanks for your post. Good Information . . . . Yes ... There is still money to borrow. Hey, what's the feeling in your market at this time. Are most of your Buyers "bottom-Feeders?" Thank you! We have to stay positive! Negative energy creates negative energy...Positive energy creates positive energy! Rates are still AWESOME! AND THERE IS MONEY TO LEND! My theory is, get up, go to work, meet and talk to as many people as you can and share some positive thoughts. Get an email out to everyone in your database...If everyone would do that and let people know that we are still lending money and you don't have to put 20% down I think we could spread the word and move some houses :)
