The town of Parker recently announced efforts to make housing more affordable for residents by partnering with the Colorado Housing Finance Authority (CHFA). With CHFA's help they will issue nearly $1.7 million in private activity bonds to finance affortable home mortgages for Parker's low and moderate-income homebuyers.
The partnership between Parker and CHFA will increase the amount of financial resources currently available to Parker residents. Last year CHFA utilized its own resources to close more than $6.5 million in affordable home mortgages helping 37 families to become homeowners in Parker. The additional $1.7 million will help CHFA broaden outreach in Parker meaning even more residents will be able to access affordable mortgage products. CHFA home loans offer borrowers 30 or 40-year fixed interest rates as well as down payment and closing cost assistance. CHFA attributes its success to its safe lending products, homebuyer education and borrower access to in-state customer support.
