I type as I listen to the Vice Presidential debates in the McCain vs. Obama election. I'm not sure if its just me getting more interested in politics as I become a middle-aged adult and parent, or if this is truly one of the most pivotal elections in our country's history. I think the later.
We are contemplating a $700 billion bailout of the financial industry as a country. A bailout that will be tied to the failed mortgage loans issued over the last five years. This will be the biggest tax payer bailout ever and no doubt be something we learn from for a long time.
I just keep doing my job, contacting my clients and telling them that as long as good folks are having babies, getting married and getting promoted there is always buying and selling in Denver. There's also divorces and death but I'm a "glass half full" kind of guy. My last listing went under contract in 6 days. The one before that went under contract after 2 weeks showing.
So, I think we'll work through this "down" market, because some people are into buying low and selling high. Maybe now is the time.
