There was an impressive turnout for the Bow Wow Pow Wow at Bill Allen Park in The Colony, TX. Many people enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with other dog lovers and get to know local vendors in our community. I am one of the volunteers raising money for a dog park. The city has approved the construction but our non-profit organization will provide funds for maintenance. I am not asking YOU for money. I only ask you to view my video/slide show to raise awareness of the project. Furthermore, if you have tips or suggestions regarding how to provide a safe and dog friendly environment for our new dog park please comment.

Awesome slide show, looks like there is plenty of local interest in your dog park. I don't have any experience in this area, so I can't really help with suggestions, other than to keep doing what you're doing!

Loved the music Mel and the photos are adorable! The only only thing I can suggest for the future are maybe softer transitions between photos. But it's really great!

Melody - Great community project. Here in Temecula we have a City Sponsored park. Regarding the Saftey issue.

Fenced area for Small Dogs - Can be off leash in this area only.
Fuge fenced area for Large Dogs - "
Dogs must be attended by owner in this area

Along walking trails dogs must be on a leash. There are several poop bag dispensers throughout the park and owners are required to pick up thier dogs poop.

A security guard opens the enclosures every morning and locks them at night. I am not sure what time.

Melody, Great show and I love dog parks, what a nice thing to help out with and volunteer for! I agree about a special area for smaller dogs, it's often the reason I don't bring my little one out!
