Realtors, What the heck do you want!?

By
Home Stager with Stage It! Redesign It!

I do mean that in the nicest possible way.  I really want to know what you want.  What would you like to see from your Home Stager?  What would you like us to handle (besides the hands-on staging)?  What would you like to see in a Home Staging class or what questions do you have that you can't seem to get answered?  You can look up "10 Staging Tips" or "How to prepare your lising for showings" all day long and get the same lists.  There has to be something missing or something that would be more valuable to you and your clients.  If you have anything in mind, I'd love to hear it!

Being there and answering the phone almost anytime would be great.  Thanks.

Over 2,000 homes sold…..

We coordinate classes to agents with our stager and our photographer and they work very closely together.  I really have not heard of another agent the has their stager and photographer work hand in hand......as the pictures have to tell the story and the stager and the photographer have to be in sync.  i.e. The staging is not only about the people that come into the home, it is about how we can get people into the home.  This is so important in today's internet world...........

That is a fantastic idea and you couldn't be more right.  One of the companies I work with does have their own photographer but we've never even met!  He always comes in after I'm done.  His work is great and I think working hand in hand would be very valuable.  Thank you for that!  On a side note, one of my largest frustrations is when the effort either comes from the Realtor or the seller to stage the home but then the MLS pictures don't ever get updated.  This boggles me completely...

MBA, GRI...experience counts!

I think what would be nice is a class where you go into a house and watch it being staged.

Couple things I would like from my stager:

  • a one page introduction to what staging is and why it's important, with her photo and some nice testimonials
  • flexibility--some sellers need more help, or different help, or hand holding and having a stager who can get along with lots of different personalities and adapt to the situation at hand rather than play prima donna is great
  • shopping services--can be everything from hand towels to flat panel LCD TVs (on sellers orders and budget of course)
  • discretion--please don't talk to your friends about the houses you are staging for me and what is/was horrible about them -- I want nothing but positive things out in the world about the homes I have to sell for top dollar!

That's a great suggestion.  Seeing is always better than reading. Staging a basic home (for me, anyway) normally averages 5-7 hours.  As I would have no problem with that personally, I could see where that may not be a very popular class.  Would you go to a class where a room may reflect an average person's (or maybe an overly-cluttered average person's) room and watch a transformation in that way?

My response to "couple things I would like from my stager" is...

ABSOLUTELY-all doable and all should be a given.  I offer everything you mentioned-now you just have to move here!  :)
