Trek Through the Trees

October 18^th, 8am-3pm

FREE WALK   

Begins at 8am, walkers may register until 12n, trail closes at 3pm - take a 5 or 10K Trek on trails through the Environmental Center's grounds.  This event counts towards IVV credit and is sanctioned by the American VolksSport Association (AVA), sanction #81035, a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV).  NOTE:  The walk is rated A "2" on a flat wooded trail.  Strollers/wheelchairs would have trouble, wagons OK.  There is a $3.00 fee for those walkers wishing a credit stamp.

FREE ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE

Come stroll through the butterfly garden, climb aboard the one-of-a-kind "Bird Bus" and do some bird watching, walk our nature trail, see the endangered White-top pitcher plant, meet our  resident reptiles,  tour the replica of a one-room school house and  the replica of a dog-trot farm house, visit our microscope lab, bird classroom, water pollution exhibit, and more!  Enjoy your lunch while listening to local musicians strumming their instruments.

There will be activities for the children:  face painting, designing butterfly rings, making a turtle shaker, drawing fingerprint animals, making pinecone owls, plus other fun activities!

DOOR_PRIZES  & SILENT AUCTION

Hourly door prizes will be awarded - including a 4-day/3-night hotel package (26 locations)!!
