Family, Friends and Fun!

Going back to basics is what brings joy to my life and rejuvenates my excitement about life
I took this weekend off with my family and I found that being around my family,
my friends and their families really was a lot of fun.  My husbands aunt and uncle
celebrated
their 60th anniversary.  Wow, how many people in today's world will make it to such an
incredible number?  Watching the video of them from the time their were in their 20's
up until their 80's was was a trip through memory lane.  They seem so happy and they
were surrounded by their best friends, their church friends and their children and
grandchildren.

I watched quietly as they greeted everyone that came to their happy celebration.  They
looked so happy and it made me feel happy to see this.  I had my own family there
and I felt very happy to be with them.  Driving almost 5 hrs. in the car makes you
listen to your kids thoughts, ideas and they tell your stories.  It was so special.  My
son is now engaged to be married next year and his fiance came with us.  It's great
to see how generations change.  It seems like yesterday I was the fiance in this family
and now it's my own children getting ready to take their step into marriage and real
life.  I wish them the very best and sometimes I wish I could give them the wisdom to
learn from my own mistakes before they make their own but then I guess they have
to learn things for themselves to feel the real value.

I am just happy for every chance I get to spend with my family.  I have been working
day and night for so many years and perhaps the slowdown in the market is a good
time for me to stop and "finally smell the roses" everyone has been telling me about.
I hope you all too can do the same and perhaps we can start making this world a
better place if we go back to the BASICS.

Sincerely,  Dagmar Sands

Sharing time with family is so important!  I'm looking forward to a surprise party for my dad's 80th birthday later this month.  It will be the first time the entire extended family will be together including our children, their spouses, and all the grandchildren.  My dad will be so happy to see everyone.
