SPAMMERS BEWARE - WE'RE AFTER YOU!!

Have you been SPAMMED here lately? If so, please report these critters that are taking the time to fill out a profile on AR, just to SPAM you! If you report any member who is obviously here with one intent [TO SPAM OUR MEMBERS], shoot me an email, and I will take care of it and also give YOU 500 points for helping keep our network safe and SPAM FREE. Be on the lookout for these illegitimate crusaders that deserve to have the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits. LOL~ (not really) We caught three so far this week thanks to YOU.

The email SPAMS may look something like this:

Name: Mary Mark
Email Address: marymark25@yahoo.com
Subject: Hi

Message: Hi I hope today finds you well. I felt greatly impressed after reading your profile today. My name is MARY Please I have some thing to discuss with you . I will like you to write me on my email address; marymark25@yahoo.com to enable us to discuss in details. I hope hearing from you soon. Thanks for your understanding.

Help us catch these Culprits of Corruption, these Populating Parasites, there is no room in the rain for SPAM! These folks are deleted by staff immediately in most cases, but on occasion, a few do slip by.

We seem to be catching at least one a day now thanks to your help. Most of them we catch coming in, but the few that slip through have a big surprise coming with this new welcoming committee! They may get out 1 or 2 spam emails, the POOF, they're gone! :-))

Thanks to Robert and Jani for helping us catch yet another SPAMMER who joined the network just to send them SPAM via ActiveRain email. They are officially part of the AR Spam Squad and have earned their 2nd stripe. Thank you both for your help and support catching these sharks that slip through our rainwater nets.

This is so funny. (In a relief kind of way). Until I read Elizabeth's comment/letter, I had forgotten the creepy note I'd received. Another girl was hitting on me via AR, but I never checked her profile out. I figured she wasn't real, but still got that shiver down my spine...Carry on blasting them out of here!!!

Funny how history repeats itself......even on AR!

Seems like this problem, with the same spammer, has cropped up again.....even after I was told this "person" spammer would be stopped.

Just so you know, it was reported long ago and action was supposedly taking place to prevent this again. Here is the exact post:

If you get a message from Mary Mark don't open it!!!!! (edit/delete)

I just got a "contact" from ActiveRain from a Mary Mark with an email address of mm_mary49@yahoo.ca.

The email stated she was very impressed with my profile, etc. blah, blah, blah, and would I contact her because she had a very important real estate idea she wanted to discuss with me.

Since it came from ActiveRain, I thought it might be legit. WRONG!

The bottom line this is a scam artist attempting to make us feel sorry for their plight and send money and using ActiveRain to do it.

I'm going to report it, but to whom?

I guess we really are in a different world today, sorry to say.

It was reported then to the AR feedback program and Bob said he would address it, but I didn't get any points then and ITS BACK. Notice the date!

We can all expect MORE of this stuff since our email addresses are OPENLY EXPOSED on the LOCALISM site. I wonder how many members are aware of that????

Don - you should know me better than that.

I ALWAYS return to review any comments left even on my OLDEST posts. I have been to your Blog post and commented. We are aware of the Localism email issue and will get it corrected in the future updates and upgrades. There are some other pressing issues on that list as well, so we're trying to get them all taken care of at once for the next release. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I do know you better than that and I would have been more diplomatic if I would have given you a bit more time, ......but...... the Mary Mark item was reported by me over a year ago and the LOCALISM issue was addressed with Bob, with little more than a response of the best I could do was to have my Profile removed from LOCALISM.COM if I didn't want my email address exposed.

I don't see a graceous way to compliment these facts, but I've never been told I was tactful.
