A story is told that one evening, an old Cherokee chief told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked, “Grandfather, which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee chief simply replied, “The one you feed.”
Now, I didn't write this little story, and I don't know who did, or I certainly give him or her the credit they are abundantly due. But, with all the worrisome stuff in the news of late, I thought a cautionary reminder for us all might be in order -- Let's take care to feed the right "Wolf".
Here's wishing us all the very best of faith, hope, courage and success despite the storm!
