I am not sure if this has been discussed here or not, but I have a question about the preference one may have about using either an independent inspector, or an inspector employed by a larger company. Perhaps it does not matter at all.
Obviously there are pros and cons for each. For example, when it comes to contacting an inspector, an independent inspector may not be available 100% of the time, but when they are available, you know you will be talking to the same person each time. The employed inspector will be available 100% of the time, but you may not speak with same person, or even your preferred inspector each time.
Let's not forget that the bottom line when it comes to the quality of an inspector is about being properly educated,and being able to apply that education properly to the customer, which both can (and better) offer.
