Trump Tower Dubai - Egomaniacal Billionaire Donald Trump is building a 62-storey mixed-use condo-hotel with a 300 room five-star hotel, and 360 freehold residential apartments.

This joint venture between the Trump Organization and Nakheel is Donald Trump's first venture in the Middle East. (Nakheel is one of the world's biggest real estate developers and is owned by the Dubai govenment).

"I have created some of the world's most spectacular buildings and hotels, but my project with Nakheel will be one of the most impressive undertakings I have ever been a part of. Palm Jumeirah is on course to becoming one of the world's premier tourist destinations." say's Trump.

Palm Jemeirah is an artificial island created using land reclamation. It is in the shape of a palm tree and consists of 17 "leafs". Trump Tower Dubai, with an estimated cost of over $600 MIllion, will be the luxury centerpiece building of the Palm Golden Mile, located on the trunk of the Palm Jumeirah.

Nakheel is also currently building two other "Palm Islands" - Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira. The Palm Islands are located off the coast of The United Arab Emirates in the Persian Gulf and will add 520 km of beaches to the city of Dubai.

The growth in Dubai is amazing and the architecture is fascinating. I believe that Dubai would be a neat place to visit with all the unique architecture which they have.

Stewart, yep, and Tiger Woods I believe chose Dubai for his first golf course design. Thanks for the picture. Pretty nice, huh? Good luck to Trump. I kind of like him. I saw a condo development that he's putting up in Atlanta very close to Olympic Park in a professional type neighborhood.

Why the hell didn't the Donald build something like that here in Vegas instead of the lame thing that actually did? The new Trump building here, in my opinion, is by far the biggest disappointment of all the new construction that is on The Strip. Oh well....

Thank you for the clarification. I think the islands and the amusement parks look interesting. So I can see where the money would be coming from tourism....

Reuters reports that construction of Trump Tower in Dubai has been stopped.

Nakheel, the developer, says it has cut 15% of its workforce.
