Blogging in this Economy....To Blog or Not To Blog?

By
Real Estate Agent with RON NEFF REAL LIVING

I am surprised to see how many agents that I know that don't blog.  When I ask if they blog, they simply state "I don't know how to blog."  That was just shocking!  Its fun and you don't have to always talk about real estate.  To me its like a journal entry.

In this economy I think its very important that we blog.  It is one of the cheapest ways to build our business.  So I was just curious, what are some of the other ways other agents market themselves, economically speaking?

I am always syndicating my listings to different websites and putting my name out there in cyber-space.  Doing virtual tours, farming etc...   How about you?

I think one of the biggest forms of flattery is when your competition starts doing what you have been doing all along.  Anyone had the same experience?

As always your response is welcomed!

And until next time.... BUY AND SELL Real Estate!

Sincerely,

Leslie R. Willis

Leslie, I do only the various sites, twitter, facebook and a outside blog. It is working fine for me and my team so I will not be changing anytime soon. Follow me @frankrubi on twitter.com.

I ma with you Leslie, blogging is advertising and marketing. Same old does not work anymore.

Real Estate has changed and so has the way we do business.

Leslie,

I have been doing Facebook, Linked In, and a personal website. I am new to blogging, but just love it. You are right, it is so easy!

I was with about 6/7 agents in my office today and I brought up the subject of blogging.  I told them how I am now on page 1 or 2 (multiple times) on Google after 3 weeks.

The lack of interest from most of them was really surprising to me.  Someone told me he spent a bunch of $$ on SEO for his website and when I google "his town homes," nothing on the first few pages.

I suppose I will get more credibility once the business starts coming in.  We shall see.

Hi Leslie,

I'm one of those agents that don't blog. It's not that I don't want to but I just don't know what to write. My partner Alison can sit down at the computer and blog all day!

I have pages on Facebook, Plaxo & LinkedIn.

I think it's important to network with other people & I definitely see your point in getting your name out there in cyber-space. I'm thankful that Alison enjoys this part of marketing and she lets me have the fun of working with the clients.   :-)

Frank, Thanks for twitter...I will look into it.

Sandy,  Good Luck I will be cheering for you!  Keep me posted.

Debby, I just recently teamed up with another agent we seem to be more successful together.   Guess it kind of puts a truth to "Together we stand, divided we fall"  or something like that.  Also, thanks for Plaxo.  Never heard of it but will look into it.

Carol,  Thanks for linked-in.  Just as I think I have all the sites...I find/hear of more :)  I would love to network with you.  I will be adding you as an associate.  Thanks for your kind words.

Staging By Sandy - Chillicothe, OH

Hi Leslie,

I, too, have begun to blog for the first time!   As you know, I am a home stager here in Chillicothe, Ohio and have begun my new business.   I would love to blog with you and other realtors to get your feel on home staging.  Since these blogs reach out over the US, I would love to hear from realtors who have successfully used home staging and reaping the benefits of it plus the ones who may have questions about it.

My blog is Sandy Carter/ Staging By Sandy.   Would love to hear from you.

Sandy
