I filled up today and paid $2.69 per gallon. This is the highest since Katrina in 2005. I drive about 15,000 miles per year most doing real estate in a rather compact area. I am wondering when it is going to effect prices on homes and condos. i have already seen a trend in New Orleans for people to live close to work. A New Orleans native hates a more then 30 minute commute. Its just not something we do not like to do. It will not effect my driving for a while. if I could ride a bike to work I would, but its unlikely that that would work in this business.
This is the bridge to Sugar cane country on the Mississippi River. Sugar Cane can be converted into ethanol in a far more efficient degree than corn. Why do not we take advantage of this in the USA, reason?
