1) Is it true you picked me as your apprentice because I'm really, really hot?
You clearly sounded like you were "on fire", as in charged up! Good bloggers have a passion for the real estate business and their part in it. Good bloggers want to take the real estate industry out of the dark ages. So yes, I guess you could say that I picked you as my apprentice because you were "hot", meaning not afraid of "heated dialogue".
2) What made you move from Manhattan Beach, CA to Seattle?
I wanted my children to be able to someday own their own homes. Real Estate prices in Seattle are almost 2X the national average price, but in Manhattan Beach CA housing prices are 6X to 7X the national average. My girls may end up in other States, and not CA or WA, but at least I have given them a viable option with more affordable housing options.
3) My impression of Seattle is Birkenstocks and flannel shirts and people really tweaked out from too much caffeine; how close is that to the reality?
I'm too tweaked out on caffeine to notice someone else tweaked out on caffeine. Haven't seen Birkenstocks and flannel shirts, but Seattle people clearly love to wear shorts when the weather gets to 65 degrees and wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Seattle residents are generally very conservation oriented and have their priorities in order. Many of the major tech companies in the area offer incentives to employees who carpool or ride their bicycles to work. The best thing about living in Seattle is that it is truly a place where many cultures exist in harmony, and people from other countries are the norm, rather than the exception.
4) My favorite non-real estate related blog is http://www.perezhilton.com; what is yours?
I just saw a sign in the elevator for Perez Hilton. Apparently I am staying at the World's Only Playboy Club. Did they close down the rest of them? I visited Dooce.com and was amazed at the number of hits a woman just talking about her life could get. I visit local blogs to keep up with what is happening in Seattle for the benefit of my clients, but generally don't read blogs that are not somehow related to be work.
5) What is the most annoying part of your job in real estate?
Other agents.
6) We have a kinship because we both LOVE ‘The Donald'. What do you like about him?
Being from Phliadelphia, I relate The Donald to everything that happened in Atlantic City. My mother's parents lived there, so I saw it all build up in front of my eyes. It wasn't only Trump, but Trump always did everything bigger and better. I always liked Trump's style, and for all his bravado, you can see he's a great guy I always thought he needed a good woman who loved him for himself and not his money. I used to fantasize that I might run into him at the Trump Casino. That was during the time when he was getting a divorce from Ivana. A bunch of us would go and actually think we had a shot at him. My husband at the time said "Go For It!...You can pay me alimony if you snag him." It was fun...never did see him in person though.
7) What was the last ‘cosmetic procedure' you had done?
Apparently you haven't seen me in my 50th birthday jacket. It says "1954 - All Original Parts".
8) Tell me how many people did you have to step over to become top woman blogger (or whatever you were crowned as)?
LOL I don't have a crown. I don't even have a Tiara! I'm a "Stream of Consciousness" Blogger and I'm Technology and Alternative Business Model "friendly". A lot of agents get mad at my attempts at transparency. I don't "step over agents" but I won't play the game of pretending the consumers are wrong either. If there is an outcry, we need to address the concerns. Not pretend that everyone's perception is incorrect.
