I realise we've talked about this before, but I have no qualms talking about it again. I was at a seminar all day yesterday....it was wonderful, lots of great programs, came up with wonderful ideas, met up with some old friends and made some new ones...the very last speaker of the day was a retired DPS officer and the he was talking about safety on the job. We work in a high risk job as we are well aware of...part of his presentation was to show us a video of some basketball players, one team in black shirts, one team in white shirts, he asked us to keep an eye on the team in white shirts and count how many times they passed the ball to each other. We all watched intently about 100 REALTORS® in the room, all coming up with different numbers at the end. Then he asked us, so did any of you spot the GORILLA in the movie. What gorilla, not one of us had seen it!! Sure enough when he replayed the video, somebody dressed in a gorilla suit walked across the screen, stopped in the middle, beat his chest and waved and then walked on off...we had be so intent on what we were focused on not one of us had spotted him. That's how easy it is to be misdirected and to get ourselves in to some really serious trouble. So please be careful out there one and all and take stock of your surroundings...he called it the 2 second rule...just take 2 seconds to look around to make sure everything is ok. Stay safe

We get so tied into ourselves and what's happening that sometimes we forget to be "aware of our surroundings".Good advice that may save a life.
