Well it appears my summer hiatus is over.  For the 10's of folks that have heard of my blog, I apologize for leaving you with stale re-runs and annoying reality shows to keep you informed and entertained over the summer.

I have been a little busy with real estate.  When times get tough, the tough really start lead generating.  Fortunately for me 90% of my business this year has come from referrals and I thank them for their faith and loyalty.  I am still looking to grow by soliciting buyers through radio, postcard mailing campaigns and networking.  I have blogged before about the radio spots.   I don't think they are going to last much longer because the bank that sponsored them has been bought.  It remains to be seen if the party continues.  And a party it was; great folks looking to get their small business on the air for free and enjoy lunch and networking.  I must say that I found several folks that have been helpful in my business.  One of them is a home inspector that specializes in energy efficiency.

Energy efficiently is becoming very important and Eric George, the owner of Building Performance Group, helps home owners with efficiency and builders' with Energy Star compliance.  The green movement is really growing in many areas; not so much here.  I don't say that to be negative about our housing industry; if there are any builders or remodelers that are doing Green Building/Remodeling, I would love to talk to you about what your doing.  My former colleague, Mark Isaacs is building a fossil fuel free development downtown and it is pretty amazing.  Not everyone wants to live downtown, but right now it is the epicenter for the hip; yet another blog topic to be taken up soon.

I am a big fan of solar energy, but the cost is still prohibitive for the average homeowner and with our gloomy winters, I don't know if it is something you could rely on year round.  I have been learning more about LEEDS also.  I plan to blog more about what it is and how it can help my clients save money and be more environmentally responsible.  My association with NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) and Bob Rader, Bath and Kitchen Designer, has exposed me to greener designs, materials and fixtures that ease the impact without skimping on style or efficiency. I am looking forward to learning more and working closely with Bob and his current and future projects.

I hope everyone is having a great fall.  Look for my next riveting blog post soon(er). If you are interested in any of these "Green" topics or want to get in touch with any of the folks mentioned, just email me for contact info.  If you find it on your own, be sure to let them know that you read about them on my Blog.  Thanks.
