If you have not, you need to be at the Missouri Association of REALTORS' Business Conference in Jefferson City in January! The 2008 MAR Leadership Academy developed a program which promotes REALTOR participation at the state and local levels of government. We have developed a curriculmn which will help Missouri REALTORS, who aspire to hold a public office, get to know the political process and protocols as well as educate those who rather prefer to assist in the running of a campaign.
The program will reach out to ALL Missouri REALTORS who wish to promote the ideas and needs of home owners in Missouri. The program is looking to accomplish 4 goals:
- Give REALTORS the tools they need to run for public office and be political advocates
- To be easily implemented with the Governmental Affairs Forum
- Specifically fits the MAR Strategic Plan
- Be of NO bedgetary impact
As a Leadership Academy, we were asked to develop a project that would fit the MAR Strategic Plan and be of benefit to our members. We feel that we developed a program that fits those two criterias but more importantly, we feel that we have a program that will promote the protection of real estate owners and as well as enhance the real estate business environment. What better way to ensure the protection of our industry as well as police the political process in regard to home owner rights? I think there is not a better program at this time!
