Morehead City NC Seafood Festival for 2008 was a Great Success!

Morehead City NC Seafood Festival

This years Morehead City NC festival could not have been any better. The weather was absolutely perfect with sunny skies and cool weather. If you have never been, mark your calenders for next year. Everyone has a great time and there is truly activities for all ages. And best of all, it is free.

The North Carolina Seafood Festival is a non-profit organization of Carteret County citizens and business people, in conjunction with the Town of Morehead City. It helps to recognize the importance of Seafood to Eastern North Carolina.

The availability of fresh seafood in the state and even the nation, would be greatly impacted without the fleet of commercial fishing vessels that come from Carteret County. One of the festivals goals is to recognize the many who have given their lives in their occupation and to thank those who do it today. Make it one of your goals to go to the "Blessing of the Fleet."  This is a ceremony to recognize all our past and present fishermen and all they have contributed to our communities.

Don't miss out on next years events!

Vickie- That's good news for everyone.  Did you go and learn how to cook some of that seafood?  My friend Cynthia has a great seafood recipe she shared with us last year. She probably went to this festival also.

Kathy, I did not get to go until the last day on Sunday. But they were giving out oysters on the half shell and my husband said they were great.  That is the only seafood I am not crazy about.  It was a lot of fun though.

Vickie, this reminds me of a vacation I spent at Duck, and the and all we ate was local fresh seafood and salads.  The seafood was just amazing!

Hi Vickie,
It was a gorgeous weekend and I understand the turnout was very good.  I missed it this year for the first time since I moved back to the area.
