Hello Everyone,
This is my first attempt at blogging, so any constructive feedback from you professionals out there is appreciated.
To be true to localism I am actually writing this blog from our office site in Lakeview, Ohio. So your thinking why Indian Lake? Well the Indian Lake region is comprised of 3 small communities (Lakeview,Russells Point and Huntsville) that all border on this 5,800 acre lake situated in west central Ohio. All three communities with their own mayor, town council, and employees. To me it would only make sense for these communities to come together and re-organize as one. Indian Lake, Ohio. But I guess that politics folks.
The attraction to this entire area is the lake itself. With its 5,800 acres of water, Indian Lake is a magnet to fishermen, pleasure boaters, campers, and vacations. Indian Lake is within a 2 hour drive from many of the larger metropolitan areas in Ohio. Our residences related to the lake itself range from small weekend cottages to condos to beautiful waterfront homes. Many of these residences are second homes, vacation homes, or investment properties. Combined with numerous campgrounds, State Park and public access areas and being a short drive, it is easy to see why Indian Lake is such a popular location during season.
I realize that when you mention places such as Myrtle Beach, it is synonymous with the ocean and golf, but lets face it folks we are in Ohio. When I tell people I'm from Lakeview, Ohio I get a shoulder shrug. Mention Indian Lake and most Ohioan's smile and know where I'm from.
Well folks, thats it. Just a short introduction. Maybe if all goes well and a little practice at this blogging, I will be able to fill you in more about Lakeview or should that be Indian Lake. If you are interested in more about my area please feel free to visit my website at indianlakeman.com
