Alamo is an unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, California, in the United States.  It is located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area.  Population was 15,626 in the last census which was in 2000.  Alamo was named by the Spanish in 1859 for the poplar trees that lined San Ramon Creek.  Alamo has great freeway access either North or South for commuters.  This quiet community is quite lovely with its eclectic array of unique houses and some room for horse lovers.  If you have someone who is relocating to the East Bay region, you might want to tell them about this wonderful community.
