Will someone please tell this "hockey mom" to stop saying that she did not do anything "unlawful". She most certainly did. She was found by a bipartisan committee made up of 12 members, 8 of whom were republicans, that she abused the power of the office she was elected to. She will still be facing another inquiry into the matter by the personnel board.
She seems to suffer from the same delusions as Dick Cheney regarding the laws of the land.
News flash Ms. Palin the laws apply to you too!
Though Palin claims the report has exonerated her, that's an outright lie. It is true that it concluded that she was within her rights to fire Monegan, since the governor is allowed to replace department heads without cause. But it also found that Palin "abused her power" by violating the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act, which holds that any "effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action" is a violation of the public trust.
So while we wait for Sarah to "get it" and as we listen to more of her vitriolic bloviating on the campaign trail, let us remind ourselves that she was the best option that John McCain could find for a running mate.
My oh my how far has the grand old party fallen?
