When purchasing a home in this market or any market, it is important to know the steps to take in order to make the process much easier. Below you will find some helpful information about the home buying process, some you may already know and some may be new to you.
- Speak with a lender and have your credit Pre-Approved
- This helps you to house hunt in confidence. It assures that you are going to get financing in order to purchase the home that you want when you find it.
2. Start searching for the home that is perfect for you and your family.
- Contact a real estate agent to assist you in your search for the perfect home. To find that perfect home, think about the neighborhood you want to be in, school district, size of home and yard, etc.
3. It is time to make an offer.
- Once you find that perfect home, make an offer. Think about how much you want to spend in order to make it yours. Your realtor will help you in the negotiating process by seeing what other homes have sold for in the neighborhood, and determining how much repairs, renovations, etc. might cost.
4. Get a home inspection.
- Hire a qualified proffesional to perform a home inspection. Your realtor should be able to give you the name of one or two that they use and trust. The inspector will examine every detail of the house and will record any problems in the inspection report. The inspection report can be used to negotiate with the seller.
5. Close the deal.
- The closing is the end of the transaction. All parties to the transaction meet with the closing attorney where all the paperwork is signed. At the end of the closing, you, the new homeowner are handed the keys to your new home!
6. Move In!
- And last, but definatly not least, its time to move your stuff in. Congratulations, you are now the owner of the perfect home for you family!
