A Day Late and A Dollar Short - Sometimes

By

Isn't it the truth, sometimes. I know I'm not the only one who has had this happen.

How many times have you told your friends, family and just about everyone you come in contact with, what you do for a living? You have to constantly remind them, without being pushy. You have to be creative. Bring it up in conversations, at parties, school functions, on the phone, etc. Especially when meeting new people. I was just introduced to someone the other night, once she heard what I did she said "Oh, too bad I didn't know you a few months ago."

Yeah, it stinks she didn't know me a few months ago, but she knows me now. I still gave her a card and told her to think of me in the future. I never pass up the opportunity to make a future client.

Just because someone doesn't need your services now, doesn't mean they won't need you in the future. You can network and market yourself without even knowing it.

Timing is everything!   I attended a function (only one meeting) with a friend because they didn't want to go alone.   I met someone who needed to sell a property.  They were realistic with the price and we sold it within 90 days.  YOU CAN network and market yourself with even knowing it.
