BOO!

Another Halloween and another Halloween party "opportunity."

I usually stay in and eat all of the candy that I buy at Walmart under the guise of "it's for the kids". In truth, we only get a handful of kids knocking at our door and then I am left with the giant plastic pumpkin full of candy that slowly dwindles to a giant plastic pumpkin of empty wrappers by the end of the evening followed by a giant sugar rush.

But this year I'm attending a huge costume party and I've been racking my brain trying to decide what would be the perfect costume. I'm appealing to you all in the Rain to see if you have any creative ideas for a unique costume. I'm tired of the same old vampire, witch, scary unidentifiable hobo, bum, Cleopatra, fairy stuff I always see at parties.

I want something amazing! Can anyone help?

Me and the wife went as Shaggy and Velma last Holloween. Check out the Costume Store by Office Max on Lancaster. They usually have some great ones there.

Cecily,

Truly not a favorite of mine, yet I too will be dressing up (yet to be determined what it will be) because a recent Buyer is throwing the party.....opportunity knocking.....hey, how do I dress up as that?....LOL

Dan: I don't know how we get talked into going to these parties, do you? Hmmm.....opportunity knocking...how about a door with a brass knocker attached? As for you-a friend of mine is going as Sponge Bob Square Pants-that might be fun. I'll put my thinking cap on and see if I can come up some "guy" costumes.

Try this one for originality.....If you're going with your hubby, you dress as a bunny, he dresses as a nerd. Both of you have gun belts on as part of your costumes. When people ask you what you're dressed as, and they will definitely do so since most nerds and bunnies don't carry guns. You tell them you're Bunny and Clod the most feared train robbers in the world!

My daughter decided she wanted to be a flower pot this year.  So my wife went to the Thrisft stores and has bought a bunck of fake flowers.  They are glued to a sweatshirt.  She then sawed a flower pot in half  so it fits around her and the holder around her shoulders is rope.

Its actually a very clever cotume.  I think we have 10 bucks into at the moment.

Cecily - I dressed as Pippi Longstocking a couple of years ago.  That was fun because I just put a bunch of crazy things together and the outfit was ridiculous.  I had the striped long stockings and everything.  LOL  The tricky part is her hair, I had a hard time because I waited until the last minute.

BTW, thanks so much for stopping by my blog & commenting.  Your support is much appreciated!
