Here is part II of Greening Your Office, 10 more tips from CA Real Estate Magazine, contributed by Michelle D. Alderson.

GOING, GETTING GREEN 10 TIPS

11.  Buy an Energy Star Equipment - Wow, according to Energy Star, its qualified office equipment uses 30-75 % less electricity than standard ones.

12.  Recycle company cell phones - Many companies give out new phones when new model comes out. Check if your office recycles, if not find out where you can.

13.  Get E-Savvy - Create on-line e-newsletter and interoffice memo via email, and work towards becoming paperless.

14.  Use natural resources for Energy - Both solar panels and wind turbines use nature to create energy used for electricity.

15.  Install low flow toilet - You will be surprised how much water we use "flushing." Low flow uses 20% less water than standard toilet.

16.  Replace old computers - Yes, there is a computer that meets Energy Star standards.

17.  Recycle cans and bottles - I still see many, many of them in trash bins.  According to the California Conservation, by recycling close to 7 billion beverage bottles from 1 - 6, 2007, Californians saved the equivalent of 2.5 million barrels of oil. WOW again.

18.  Use your notepad wisely - Use entire page before tossing it away.

19.  Watch what you print - Look & check out your documents before you hit the print button.  Don't print more pages than needed.

20.  Do It Yourself - If your office does not recycle, then do it yourself!  Take advantage of what's out in your area and put it to work.

GOOD LUCK GREENING!
