NEWBIE WITH THANKS!

By
Real Estate Agent with William Raveis Chapman Enstone

Greetings all,

Today was my very first introduction to Active Rain! I heard about it at an office meeting this morning & the minute I had a chance to check it out, I was hooked! Not only am I new to the Rain, but I'm also a real estate newbie; I received my license in February! WOOHOO!

With 30+ years of food and beverage background and a year of real estate law office history, I believe this is a good fit for the remainder of my working years(I'm 49).

I just wanted to thank all of you for all of the wonderful information you have all put out here for us to have!  I understand that all of you "seasoned veterans" were all new at one point as well, & I thank you for the understanding and support I have seen thus far!  I have learned throughout the years, that many people forget that they were in the same position as I and the rest of the Newbies are, but for those of you who remember, I THANK YOU!

Being so new, I am like a sponge; ready to take whatever guidance and advice you offer to not only jump start my new career, but to lead me in the right direction. We learn so much in the pre-licensing classes, but we only really learn what is neccessary to pass the exam; we don't learn half of what we're really going to need to know once we become licensed.  I wish someone could change that.

At any rate, I wanted to thank you all for so much wonderful information and support! I look forward to sharing with you very often!  Oh, if you're ever in Newport, or plan to visit Newport, give a call; I'll be happy to meet you!

I haven't had my agency photo taken yet, but as soon as I have, it'll be up!

Thanks again!

Peace!

Carol

It is a good thing that you come with a food and beverage background because you may have to call in a few favors in the beginning.  It is a rough business at the start unless you have a strong warm market.   But having all of this AR advice and wisdom at your fingertips will get you through.

Carol,

Congratulations on your license.  I have had my license for almost 3 years but have only been a full time active agent since September so I am a still a newbie as well.  I ahve been an AR memeber for like a week and I gotta tell ya its addictive.  I love it.  There is sooo much wonderful advice and information here.  I am actually giving an AR presentation to all of our agents at our next sales meeting because I think it is very valuable to all of todays agents.

PS.. Its also a great stress reliever.

Welcome

Laurie

Richard,

Thanks for the encouragement, but so far, it's been okay.  I'm doing a lot of rentals, so it's been very busy (which is good), and everyone in our office has been more than helpful!

Peace!

Marchal,

Thanks so much for the encouragement!  I've learned through the year of food & beverage that you have to have a positive attitude or else it will drive you insane!  Additionally, I firmly believe that life is too short to get all stressed out.

I appreciate the support!

Peace!

I can see how the homes properly staged will sell faster, but we have a totally different method of getting hundreds of lookers through a house. We conduct estate liquidation sales for heirs, executors, attorneys and individuals. We discovered that a house contents sale puts hundreds more people through the house than a traditional open house. We ask the brokers to attend the sale and take names. Almost every person coming to the sale, either wants to buy the house or knows someone who is looking. See our website: http://www.RhodeIslandEstateSales.com At the end of each sale we have the property cleaned out and swept by a local clean up crew of veterans who do the dump run and donate any leftover usable stuff to furnish new living quarters for homeless veterans. See their website: http://www.TrashCleanouts.com  We have expanded on this very successful method for flooding the house with people and now fill up empty homes with stuff and run a staged sale. Consider this messy but worthwhile concept!
