Alfa Romeo Car Show to Showcase Rarest Alfa Romeo in the World.
On November 1st, 2008, the Mid Florida Alfa Romeo Owners Club, Inc will host the 6th Annual Alfa Rome Car Show in Celebration Town Center from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The car club which started in 2002 with only 7 members has grown to the 110 members that make up the club today.
Among the cars that will be on display is an extremely rare Fiat Bianchina, owned by Celebration resident Freda Inda, and the winner of last year's People Choice Award. The show will also showcase 3 rare 1964 Alfa Romeo's and a rare 1959 Alfa Romeo Giuletta Sprint owned by Stirling Watts. Guests will also be treated to see the only Alfa Romeo Vignali in existence. This 1953 automobile, owned by Delmas Grenne, was originally built as a prototype for Alfa Romeo. After the car manufacturer decided not to use the designers submitted prototype, he scrapped all plans for future production.
Alfa Romeo is an Italian Built automobile that first began manufacturing vehicles in 1913. The company, which was purchased by Fiat in 1990, stopped the import of Alfa Romeo's to the US in 1995. In 2008, Alfa Romeo (Fiat) will begin re-importing cars to the US beginning with a $200,000 2 door coupe.
The Alfa Romeo Car Show expects about 50 cars to be a part of this year's event, according to Howard Bernstein-President of the Mid-Florida Alfa Romeo Owners Club. "Celebration is so centrally located and is just a beautiful site. It really is an exceptional place and the cooperation we get from the community is remarkable. Everyone is so generous. There really is no better place than Celebration for our event". says Bernstein.
