What happened to the WAR in Iraq?

By
Commercial Real Estate Agent

Not to bring everyone down with politics but, as I was leaning over to turn off my alarm this morning I couldn't get this thought out of my mind - What happened to the topic of the War in Iraq? It's just too convenient and strange that the economic crisis has taken forefront for the last several weeks/months prior to the real decision to be made in November.

We've talked more about Joe the plumber, mentioned a total of 25 times by both candidates during last nights debate, the housing bubble, oil rigs off our coastline, and name calling between the two candidates...

I'm no genius but root cause analysis would show that a major contributor to our consumer confidence is based on our problems with our foreign policy and what the world thinks of America.  Fix the confidence and the economy will fix itself!

I don't know, maybe I'm just venting, but what do you guys think?

Yours truly,

As Americans we usually can only focus on one major event at a time !

The topic of conversation is always the topic that figures to favor the candidate favored by the media.

I agree, the media is crap and I don't believe half the stuff I see on TV.  That's why the Internet will be the true gateway for fact in the future.  It has a natural sifter of truth.... us!

Not spending a gazillion dollars a month in Iraq would surely go a long way to helping our national deficit, don't you think?

Wonder why no one has brought this up before.

Heck, we wouldn't need tax increases.  Just bring our brave men and women home and stop sending $$ to Iraq.

See I just solved all of our countries problems in one blog posting! lol  Now if I could only find a buyer for this one building and meet my future wife, the universe would truly be in alignment!

Happy selling everyone - make those calls!

Your post is right on the money. But as this debate wa to be about economics then I guess the war did not come into it. But it should have as it is a big time drain

Jason,  Interesting thought since Iraq was the subject which propelled both Barak Obama and John McCain into being the presidential candidates of their respective parties.  There's a lot we Americans don't understand, but we do understand Joe the Plumber.

I am with you.  We really cared about "energy independence" a little over a month ago too but that has gone :poof:
