I don't have to, I GET TO !

My friends, the countdown is now at day 86 and we are picking up speed!  It is quickly making its way down into the 70s by next week!!  Soon me and the future Mrs. Adam Dalton will be tying the knot of wedded bliss.  I love sharing all the comments with my very own soon-to-be "TLW" (I hope that she doesn't have that copyrighted).  I was thinking just tonight about what a lucky guy I am.  I realize that I have so many things in my life that I might be taking for granted, and came to the conclusion that I need to be more grateful for the things I GET TO do.

Even though this job takes up a lot of time and energy, I realized tonight that I GET TO go to work everyday. I GET TO meet clients and show homes and spend time writing out contracts.  I GET TO go to marketing meetings and learn how to better grow my business.  I GET TO face rejection because it makes me better for the next time.

I realized all this as I was driving home and listening to a song called, you guessed it, "I GET TO".  I would guess that there are a fair amount of country music fans out in the Rain, so I hope you'll all hear it on the radio this week.  For those of you that aren't in tune with your inner-good ol' boy, basically its a song about being grateful for getting up early, going to a job that may challenge you, getting to do chores around the house that you have and just doing things with a totally different perspective.

We as professionals have a great life.  Most of us work hard, not because we are watched by the clock, but because we are driven to succeed and to be the best.  We spend those hours in the office alone not because we have to, but because WE GET TO.  A lot of people out there don't have the freedoms or jobs that we GET TO go to everyday, so don't take tomorrows work for granted.

I hope your tomorrows are filled with contracts and client, remember all the wonderful things you GET TO do.
