The Pillar Award winners were revealed today by Angela Buchman (emcee) at the Fishers Chamber monthly luncheon. Your local reporter for the day is your Fishers Real Estate agent, Cindy in Indy!
Pillar by definition means someone who is a supporting part of a community, "pillar of the community" and these awards are meant to celebrate and share the success and best practices of thriving businesses in Fishers, Indiana. The Fishers Chamber has four categories where awards are given:
Design Appeal was awarded to National Catastrophe Adjusters whose mission is "To handle all insurance services with fairness and integrity, exercising the highest standards of ethical and personal conduct while transacting business. NCA will provide timely and responsive service with full recognition of the obligation to the clients, insured, and public. Our goal: To exceed your expectations." They have been in business since 1984 and most recently assisted in helping thousands of people during Hurricane Ike.
Emerging Growth was awarded to Fionn MacCools, a local pub with a very cool website (using a mug of beer as the mouse icon and great Irish music). An authentic pub that is great for meeting up with friends, sharing the day's events and having a bite to eat.
Small Business of the Year went to Fishers Dental Care whose mission is" To provide comprehensive dental care with special attention to your individual needs in a timely and affordable way. We want to make your visits with us comfortable and pleasant, while providing you and your family with the finest dental care available."
Business of the Year, the most coveted of the Pillar Awards had many nominees, but the winner of this award went to Meyer Najem Construction. They were founded in 1987 by Karl Meyer and Anthony Najem, Meyer Najem is becoming one of the Midwest's premier construction firms and does a great deal of philanthropic work. They employ about 85 people currently.
