Pay Attention to me for 1 Minute

Ok besides the rest of this blog, what is your opinion on the title, I was debaing between this and "Love in an Elevator" you will see the connection shortly.

Do you need to work on your "Elevator Pitch"?

If you only have one minute to tell some one who you are, what you do, and why they should use you does your 1 minute get that message across and capture that prospect's attention?

What do you include in your elevator pitch?

Asking what the other person does and what needs they have. The pitch is in the ears. :^)

I try not to "pitch".  I can do it in under 1 minute, but find that rushing things makes communication an issue.

having the USP is important, but it needs to be less than 20 sec, and you need to ask an open ended question of the other person.

I have been redoing mine.  I would like to hear ewhat others have.

I recommend "How To Get Your Point Across in 30 Seconds or Less" by Milo O. Frank.  It's older but the points still apply to today.  It is a quick and easy read and makes a lot of sense.

I hate the term "pitch".  I expect to be sold a bottle of snake oil.

Having a USP is imperative to your success.  It's what sets you apart from the 3 billion other agents in the county.

The trick is having a USP that isn't trite and hasn't been used by everyone else.  Look inside yourself and figure out what makes you tick and why you do this business.  Chances are it is the same thing that would attract clients to you.
