Are you using today's technology to your best advantage?

We, as Realtors, Mortgage Brokers, Stagers, Insurance Reps, and others have a host of Technology at our fingertips.

And, if you're like me....you may not be utilizing it to your fullest advantage. eyes.jpg picture by dabydoll

Active Rain is instrumental in opening my eyes to the archaic methodology that lingers from the past within our industries. There are so many viable ways to utilize the technological advances that are being made every single day to aid us in our businesses.

I have found myself in awe of techies and their geek speak. Many will be attending Houston's REBarCamp next week and are looking forward to learning more there!

Happy ComputerHere's the rub...is there anyone out there that can draw a diagram of what technology goes to what? Is there such a thing as a step by step A goes to B goes to C type document or program or class or teacher or trainer that could help with this?

I find myself not knowing what phone to buy...how to use it once I have it...how to make my softwares compatible on my different computers so I don't have to go to different computers to work on different tasks...green questions

Is there anyone that you know of that actually goes into a business or tutors one on total compatibility based on our needs within our business?

Or, is this a potential job position that one could create that would be the next level of "technology tutors" that could come in and organize one to be able to function at their peak performance, save time, save money, and increase business?

Are you using today's technology to your best advantage?

I know I'm not. Any ideas? Any offers? Hum...let me know.

Later in the rain~Deb

This is a great idea and I hope someone comes up with something that could illustrate the connections for Tech! I am planning to Attend ReBar for the day and hope to learn more about ALL of it while there. Sometimes the amount of information is so vast I do not know where to start!

DEB, It use to be that my older sister would figure whatever technology out then I would do what she did.  A few years ago a funny thing happened and I passed her by on technology and now I get in to that quandary of what to buy and she follows me (lol).  I have used trial and error and I can tell you for a fact that is not the best way to go (several hundred dollars later).  Maybe we will learn that secret on Wednesday.

Several years ago I realized that computers were the way to go.  I knew a techie high school kid and I paid him $20 per hour to come by my office and teach me more about computers.  I also wanted to learn ebay and hired a lady to teach me how to do that too.  Sometimes we just need to pay for help.

I have learned many things since joining AR a few months ago.  Until then, I was not up to speed on some techy items available to me.  I know I have quite a bit to still learn, but I take in a bunch each day.

Deb ... I'm with you. Once you actually have all the gadgets ... how the heck do you use them? To the highest and best advantage that is. Easier said than done, for some of us anyway. AR is great learning tool though. I particularly love the Photoshop Elements tips and tricks I have picked up here. Good post tonight.

Russell, I'm so glad to hear I will see you at the camp! I'm looking forward to it! Maybe you can explain it all to me afterwards! LOL. Deb

Tom, you bet it is but I'm not doing so great at it.

Marchy, if you can explain anything to me I'm up for listening.

Thanks you all,

Barbara, I always knew you were a very smart lady! I knew it. I just need the same type of tutoring. Any ideas?

John, see, I get the techy items too. I just don't know how to use them to the highest degree and how to integrate them for an optimum use! Ugh. It's tough being "slow". Ha.

Sharon, that's exactly what I'm saying! I am still trying to figure all the buttons out on my microwave...don't rub it in.

Let's just all remember that we're really ahead of the curve out there! Really!

Debra:  Being up on the latest technology is fine... but I sure wish I could do my eyebrows like the woman in the drawing.  Sniffle, sniffle.

Hi Deb. Did you know that C is a double major in Law and Computer Information Systems? I bet she could bang that out for you, being an artist as well. You should send her an e-mail and let her know that she is busted for reading and not commenting on your post (LOL). M.

P.S. Now you know why I don't blog much. I keep getting in trouble (ROTFL). Just teasing... :-)

Deb, sometimes the best thing to do is just ask for help. Ask someone if they know about it and see if they will help you. Of course maybe that person could blog about it. Kathy McGraw asked me if I could write a tutorial on how to do animated and post it in tech corner, so I did. :-)  But I understand where your coming from though, love the eyes photo!

Okay, so now that my hubby has busted me for reading and not commenting on your post, I have been sent over here to read and comment. Hmm... exactly what is it you specifically wish to do? With what specific toy and/or tool? Might have a useful link for you if I get a little more information like make and model with which version of software (LOL). These gadgets have sooo many websites to choose from... :-)
