If you are a resident of a Braemar, make sure you clean out your closet of any coats that you don't wear anymore that are in good condition. Kids and/or adult sizes. Sweaters, gloves, mittens, hats and scarves too.
The Boy Scouts will be in the neighborhood on October 25th, starting at 8am, to pick them up. Just leave the coats outside your front door.
If that doesn't work for you, there is one central drop off point. The KinderCare parking lot in the Safeway Shopping Center. Someone will be there to take your coats and accessories from 8am-2pm. Same day, October 25th.
Coats and accessories collected will be given to SERVE, a non-profit community organization that provides temporary emergency shelter for the homeless every night. It is estimated that 60 homeless people are given shelter on a daily basis, and that 35% of the residents are children.
