My first official blog!

By

Hello out there! I have been "lurking" around on Active Rain for a while now, but this is my first blog! So, where do I go from here? Do I read some more or do I start posting away? I think the option for me is to read some more. Maybe I'll WOW you with my next blog, but until then, CHAO!

Hi Lacey, and congratulations on your first blog.
Welcome to AR.  It's a great place to learn and make new friends.

You should probably join a few groups ... you could start with joining the "newbies" group, and any other groups you may feel you either have something in common with, or can learn from.
There are groups for Realtors (general), groups about Ethics, groups about Inspiration, Mortgages, etc.  Just about anything you can think of, there's a group for.  What are you interested in?

You can also click on the Groups link and see which groups are more popular.  See if any of them grab you and then join that group (there is a "join the group" button that you click). The groups you join will show up on the left hand side of your screen, when you're logged on to AR.

Remember to post to the different groups you join, so you can get more exposure.  Read the rules for each group first, to make sure your blog 'fits'.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask ... if I can't answer, I'll point you in the right direction.

Have fun. :)

Lacey, Welcome to the AR Family. Sylvie gave you the info that I normally tell "newbies" about. Don't be afraid to search GROUPS to find your interests. AR Newbies will help you learn to navigate around the site. Good Luck to you.

Tony, I'll look into the different groups out there, thanks a bunch!

Danny, as well to you! I didn't understand how I would get traffic from this blog, but I just linked it to my website & I think that will help a lot! Something to think about?

Lacey, once you've had a chance to read through a few things, try to blog to the PUBLIC (when you post a blog, you are given a chance of making it members only, public, etc).

The PUBLIC ones are the ones the consumers will read and soon will be able to comment on.
Those are also the ones that go to Localism, which is where you want to be seen.

When you click on public, you are also given the choice of putting it out to your local area/neighbourhood (if it's not on the list, it can be added).

That way, any time consumers go to localism and click on your town/neighbourhood, your blogs will show up there, and you will get lots of exposure locally.

Try to write about things that buyers and sellers want to know about; and not necessarily real estate.  You could talk about a great bookstore in your area, or a great restaurant, or something visitors would like to do/see in your town, etc.
If you go to localism.com, put in the name of the city and town and click on what's already there, and you can see the kinds of things people are doing.

If you need help, send me an email.  I know how hard it is to get this (it was for me). :)
