Athens, Georgia - Finally Fall?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Success Realty

We may not be loaded with color like the North Georgia mountain area, yet...but it is finally beginning to feel like fall in Athens, GA!  We went from spring like weather with highs in the mid 80's to waking up to 39 degree temperatures this morning and seeing much much needed rain over the past few days.  The leaves are finally turning!  Below is one of the prettiest I've seen yet this year (found by son & girlfriend a couple of days ago in the front yard).

This leaf is so pretty, it got to come inside for some more pictures!

In the strange juxaposition of things that happen with weather like ours in Athens, one of my rose bushes has bloomed 3 times this year!  Below is what will surely be the last bloom of the season, shot during the pouring down rain a couple of nights ago.

That's one of the things I love about Georgia - roses bloom and rebloom! And you wouldn't dare plant pansies anywhere else this time of year.

Cynthia, it is pretty cool and my roses usually bloom twice, but not 3 times.  I also have one truly azalea bush that is blooming as we write - it has been a really warm fall in Athens this year.
