Silver Lining

I feel blessed to live on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina.  Every morning, as I drive to work, My route takes me over the Atlantic Beach Causeway.  This is a wonderful experience!  For those of you who don't know the area, from the top of the bridge you can see over the island to the Atlantic Ocean.  Underneath is the Bogue Sound and to the left are the most beautiful sunrises you can imagine.  On almost any given day, the sun shines just right and every cloud in the sky has a silver lining.

As you reach the bottom of the bridge, the smell of salt water is strong and the sight of the marinas and old tackle shops is comforting.  When you hit the end of the Causeway, you see a large American Flag flying over the beach with the most awesome backdrop imaginable. On the most hectic mornings, bad mood and all, when I hit that bridge,  I feel a sense of serenity and know that it is going to be a great day.

This time of year, when I am heading home, I get the pleasure of seeing the Mainland from the top of the bridge along with the sunset to my left.  I forget any worries or troubles in an instant.  Who could ask for a better commute.  It truly is a beautiful place to live, work and play.

Amy,  Welcome back.  And talk about coming back with a bang!

This is a gorgeous blog.  Lucky me, I live on the island, but I don't get to do that beautiful drive every day like you do.  I do appreciate that view every time I cross the causeway. Thanks for sharing those beautiful Pictures and good luck and God Bless.

What a great way to start and end your days. It kind of makes you forget any troubles you might have had in the middle.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

What a great way to start and the day. I love our sunshine here but every occasionally I would like to see a large, dark thundercloud. Alas, I'll have to settle for pictures from elsewhere.
