How to raise the temperture in you home without raising your bills!!!!

By

I think we can all say that all hope for a nice warm day are almost gone.  It is getting dark much earlier and we all dread getting out from under the covers in the morning because it is cold!!! I know many people are concerned with the heating bills this winter and I thought I would post a few energy saving tips to help us keep our houses warm, but our wallets full!!!

  1. Caulk around windows and doors to decrease drafts
  2. Insulate your garage door with thin styrofoam insulation board.
  3. On a sunny day, leave the shades and window treatments open to let the sunlight in which will help to warm up your house
  4. Use those wood burning stoves or invest in a wood burning stove insert for your fireplace.

Now might be the time to have the furnace serviced to make sure it is working efficiently and add extra insulation to the attic. Or, as my firend just did burn your ex husbands clothes in the wood stove.
