Yesterday, I received a call from a prospective seller. We set a time for the appointment and he reminded me he was "interviewing other agents". I always want to say, "And your point is?" because every listing I take I promise to do my best, to bring integrity and hard work to whatever the situation is - whether face to face with prospective buyers, information to other agents, marketing, or whatever. I tell every seller this:  "I will do everything I can to provide you the very best I have to offer."  How does interviewing other agents make any difference to me? The comps are the same, the spin on "my company has more agents or sells more real estate" does not hold any merit to me. If it does to the seller, then I respectfully ask to get the listing if the agent they choose does not sell it. I explain to the seller that if an agent is representing a buyer, they owe it to the buyer to offer them any property that meets their parameters. "Therefore, the entire Association of Realtors is at our disposal."
