Marketing yourself in an Obama Presidency

Services for Real Estate Pros with

While I am not a prophet,  it does appear that Senator Obama has a good lead in his contention for President.   Chances are strong that an Obama presidency would witness a gushing,  early honeymoon period from a press that genuinely embraces his personality and his ideas.

Unfortunately,  we are still a divided country and much of the Southeast, rural population centers, and working Joe's will initially detach and become concerned about their personal fortunes and our National direction.  This will lead to safety internalizing around family for both those for Obama and those against.  Internalizing on Family issues, sports, movies, and community will be a natural result of an Obama victory.

With that said,  social networking will find new heights in traffic and online trust will grow as people connect with people online.  The currency of all business is trust.  Social Networking will become a trusted place to explore, explain, and express.

If you are making Social Networking a marketing strategy for your real estate concern,  look for quality contacts and not quantity.  One strong lead through a network of ongoing trust will lead you to something more powerful than the old paradigm of frequency and reach.

As many businesses in Myrtle Beach are finding,  Social Networking on sites like and Active Rain is more about managing and building your good name with potential clients.  Creating trust is really what Social Networking is about.

An Obama victory will give you attentive ears for people who think like you do.  Social Networking will put a powerful law of attraction at your disposal.  Please remember the Law of Attraction,  however.  We attract who we are,  not what we want.

Interesting thoughts here.

I will not change who I am or how I market myself because of the person who wins the election.

Your comments are very interesting.  I firmly believe in the laws of attraction.  I make a point of removing myself from what I like to call "evil forces" so I can remain positive.  Thanks for sharing.

Take care.

Cindy and Michael,

Thanks for your comments.  Michael,  my effort was to try and explain the climate we would be working in as conditions change.  It was not a personal endorcement nor condemnation of any one climate.

Cindy-  I agree with you.  I also believe keeping a positive attitude does attract greater opportunities.

Cindy I like your attitude! Positive things happen to positive people!

But I really do not see which candidate changing how people decide who they want to do business with. It may change their ability to do business, but not who they do business with.

Should Obama win,  many rural and Southern people will lose much hope in anything National.  They will,  in fact, begin to nest and look for hope locally.

An Obama win will violate some trust concerns many in business have about the Government.  It will affect how they view business and reign in their ability to trust,  especially in this climate.

This will work well for Social Networkers.   I hope this explains my premise.  Perhaps I am wrong.

We get Dish TV and as we were flipping through the channels tonight we noticed that Obama has his own channel.  The Obama Channel 073.  If you have Dish, check it out.  This is amazing and scary.
