What Happens In The Nations Economy Is Not What Happens In Your Economy.

What you hear on the media loud and clear is lots of bad doom and gloom. Dr. Doom has come to do his mighty negative action waves upon humankind. The question is; Are you going to take his medicine and become a part of the problem or are you going to be proactive and develop your own economic destiny?

law of attraction

When bad times befall you and cause you to fall down- go ahead and fall, while you are down there, get a mop and clean the floor, then get back up and become proactive in your actions to put your life back together. Sitting around having pity parties will only create more bad energy and guess what, no one shows up for your pity party!

Is it possible to move your life and your economics into a positive direction of happiness and joy?

Remember this very important point- no matter what those around you think or think they know, judge or try to keep up with the Jones; your worth is NOT about what your material possessions are. It is NOT about the car you drive or the house you live in, it is not about the stuff that clutters your shelves or the clothes you buy. That is the great thing about money- you can always replace it. You can always make more. There is always more than enough for everyone.

You have more control over your economic reality than you think you do. You can steer your life towards success and happiness.

The most important step you can take in that direction is to be thankful for your many blessings. Spend the first 15 minutes when you wake up in the morning and the last 15 minutes before you go to sleep at night, recalling your blessings and writing in your gratitude journal all that you are thankful for. This one thing will change your life if you do it with sincerity. I promise you that it will change your life. I KNOW it will change your life. It changed my life.

One of my coaches, (yes, I have coaches) has a client who had been a very successful business person who was working for corporate America. He lost his job due to outsourcing. This couple began to experience very negative financial hardships. They maxed out their credit cards and their home was going into foreclosure. The picture they were looking at was quite bleak. The news was only making their thinking more stinking. They entered into a downward spiral very quickly.

When my coach was going over their situation with them she suggested instead of looking at what they were losing and what they did not have to look rather at what they did have and make a written inventory of what they had. It was discovered that they owned 3 cars that were free and clear, they owned a small cabin on a lake up in the mountains that did not have a mortgage on it and they had close to $2000 in cash.

After going over all of what they did have and with an attitude of gratitude they put a new life plan into action. They sold 2 of the vehicles, sold most of their 'stuff' in garage sales and on ebay, and moved to the cabin. There they fixed up the cabin and opened up a bring your own boat campground which created a profit in their first year in business. They were happy.

law of attraction

In fact, everything happens for a reason. It is just that we fail to see the reasons and want to hang on to what was or what we no longer have. Losing his job with long stressfull days working for Corporate America was a blessing in disguise. He first looked at this as a economic downward spiral instead of what it really was, a ticket to freedom and happiness of owning their own business and having fun along with it.

So if you are struggling financially take the time to sit down and really think about what you are grateful for and take stock in writing down what you really do have. Then give thanks for your many blessings and for what is right in your life. Turn off the news! Open your eyes to where your life may be taking you! You may just be pleasantly surprised!

Katerina - Your wonderful attitude constantly amazes me.  The advice that you give here is basically the same advice that a psychologist gave a friend of mine who was suffering from acute depression.

Good advice, coach!

Katrina--The power of positive thinking can and should not be ignored. I often marvel at people who will be on the news after a disaster like a tornado, flood or fire where EVERYTHING is lost, sometimes with no insurance, who say, "It's OK. We are alive and we can go on." As bad as it is, someone else always has it worse and people need to count their blessings and move on. Good positive post! :)

Stinking thinking is a dangerous thing!  Thank you for your inspirational post.  I have a gratitude journal but I think I need to spend more time writing in it.

Katerina - Just this past week, I've had more and more conversation with people who have a very negative outlook. I always tell things happen for a reason and to be optimistic and positive of what they have. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, you just have start with yourself and take control.

Instead of having a Pity Party, it's time for EVERYONE to have a Blessings Counting Party...because we all have plenty to count, no matter how bad it might seem.  In every negative event, there are ALWAYS opportunities but when we focus on the negative, we are blind to them.

Hi Katerina - your headline says it all, and I just wish the media would understand that as well.

This is a great post, and makes perfect sense.  An attitude of gratitude will take you a long way toward making good things happen.

Thank you everyone! I am writing  our short sale book, trying to crank out as many pages as I can over the weekend so if I don't get back to each comment that is why.

I so appreciate you reading this post. I love doing the tutorials but this is my real passion, motivating those around me to become the best that they can be and to encourage each and everyone I come in contact with to follow their dreams.

Katerina - I appreciated the last line paragraph "think about what you are grateful for and take stock in writing down what you really do have".  - I am grateful we gave our only daughter the big weeding last year even though i am still pating it off. My husband wanted it small and simple. I ended up disagreeing and became adament that I would cover the bills. Looking back, neither one of us have any regets now. Again, it's our ONLY daughter.

Hi Katerina!  I love the 'thinking more stinking' comment--oh, how true it is!  We hear at sales meetings all the time, the chatter about 'who's leaving the business,' 'who is really down and out,' etc. and you just have to put everything into perspective and take action.  Sitting in the doldrums won't do ONE thing for your business!  As you always say, positive attracts positive--whether it's people or actions!

Katerina- This is exactly why i'm so blessed to have you in my life.  You are passionate about the greater good.  You will have many opportunities to affect peoples life in a positive manner for ever.

Instilling affirmations and gratitude into my daily life has made a huge impact.  I still have to constantly work on my attitude throughout the day and remind myself that negativity leads to more negativity.  If you practice these great priniciples you will begin to see your life changing.  People will want to be around you more and more.

You are so right that we need to look at what we are blessed with.  I see so many negative people who don't know what it is to really hurt in life and I just shake my head.  We had the ultimate blessing for us this week and it wasn't money.  It was hearing the baby I am carrying is healthy.  For us this means after four pregnancies and five babies, we stand a chance to bring this baby home from the hospital with us.  THAT IS A BLESSING!  I don't have a gratitude journal and that is probably a good thing because right now it would be too wet with tears to write in!

More people really need to understand it isn't the material stuff or the money, it is our life and what we make it as well as how we reach out to others.
