The Flying Pigs & Fairies of ActiveRain

By
Real Estate Agent with Liberty Homes RS-#62825

For a week now I have been 'pacing in my mind' regarding blogging. Or even going to Twitter and even keeping up with my outside blogs. Yeah, I've been a little busy (sometimes life is weird that way.....we work)

I couldn't wrap my mind around what I wanted to write. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. This has always been my place to write about what I'm going through regardless if it's a transaction, something I need feedback for or just plain life and the curve balls it flies me at the oddest times.

Please tell me, what's the POINT? by Carole Provenzale was written tonight...that I read.... which automatically made something CLICK in this mind of WooHoo Sally. Yup. Something weird made me look back in my blogging bank of posts.

About this time last year the California fires were blazing and on October 23rd, 2007 I wrote about the The Active Rain Passage to Mystery and this is when it really clicked. In that post I got rolling with how I feel about this network and the people I came to ‘know' who wrote wonderful posts. The ones I gravitated to.

All week I have been lax with blogging. I paid attention to closing a transaction last week and gearing up to close another next week. I'm gearing up to do an open house for a townhouse listing I have. Yet.....I was not sure what I was feeling about blogging. I was ....bored? Maybe. I was disinterested in many posts and found that I was clicking out of each one as quickly as I was clicking in.

I was looking for the quality ones. I was looking for quick reads that had tons of meaning. I read a couple fun ones. A few mindful ones. Yup. I was bored with what I was reading.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FairiesIn that post The Active Rain Passage to Mystery I wrote the following:
I realized that the most profound thing for me on Active Rain are the real people who utilize this network for what it is. Real Estate Industry related topic with a touch of our personalities and a little bit of us. The REAL people who can not only write but talk from their hearts. The REAL professionals who know what this business is all about and extend a helping hand to those in need.
My Active Rain Passage to Mystery is ongoing with the caring souls who really make up this network. This is the Active Rain Family. The support we give each other as our peers, business associates and the ones who have become our friends. These caring souls that I have seen all over this network today to reach out to the ones in this crisis. This is real.
I welcome back.......
LINDA SCANLAN  and her first post I'm Home with a Consumer's View!
It was the so called professionals that chased her away....but if anything I do believe that this woman has conquered much in the way of life's curve balls and surpassed all of whom that cut her down when she had to give up real estate.
THIS is what I'm passionate about....the people behind the words.
THAT is what makes this a wonderful community.
Fairies and Flying Pigs from Heaven.
What a wonderful world.
Hi Sally,
Like Neal, I feel the same way about taking a step back every now and then. I've been on vacation for a week and have checked back a few times when I could, yet not as often as normal.
And like everyone else, it was good to see Linda again.
I've been thinking along these same lines recently. I've been wondering if it's boredom or apathy. I've been struggling to come up with topics and like you, clicking on a post and starting to read it then simply clicking off it and moving on. I can't seem to find what I am looking for.
Woo-Hoo: I think from time to time we all face a "I don't want to write...blog...read..." because nothing we see or feel hits the right nerve.  And, I'm sure we've all written boring posts, except we never really think they are boring, only the other readers feel that.
I'm glad something struck a nerve with you and got your fingers busy on the keyboard.  Have a great day!
Sally - very thoughtful post. Don't know whether I am the flying pig or the fairy (is that the good fairy or one with a darker bent?) but probably, to the readers have been both. I have also read Carole's post and now this. Is somebody up there trying to tell me something?
We love your passion Sally. We agree with what you wrote and have felt similarly as of late. I think i'ts the weather, many people tend to be affected by the grey days of winter. Sometimes you just have to search deeper within yourself to be inspired to write something. People like you however make it easy as we can bounce off of your enthusiasm. Keep up the good work and you're a great example of a member who continuously pays it forward to others.
It's funny how you can feel like a certain situation pertains only to you when, all of a sudden, you see that someone else was in the same boat. I hope that you found what you needed to bring you out of your slump, Sally.  I hope you'll keep on finding it, too - hopefully here in the Rain but if not, then somewhere.
Carole: No kidding....that being my main concern ....when one is feeling .... blah....and we come here to look for some great read to get us motivated, inspired or educated.....and find there's nothing....that's more depressing. :)
Russell: And that's why many of us remain..it's the people...it's the people...and connecting ....and learning and giving.
Lynda: It was nice wasn't it? One day I'll go on a real vacation. Just not ready or something. :)
Kelly: Wasn't so much the topics...the motivation and having little time...and when I came to read...there was too little time for clicking and not reading anything that was exciting me. It was me. Usually it doesn't take much to get me excited.
Hello Sally...I have been scarce myself. I find myself saying"I really should..." and then I say"I will tomorrow!
So much is happening so fast...and not just in our RE world, some days I find it overwhelming! Blogging make me think and blogging makes me be introspective and I think I didn't want to do that for a while!
Glad you're back!
Thanks too for the IZ song, and message.  His voice, his own songs too have always given me shivers, triggered deep emotions.  Even though I'm new with not much longevity or many posts, - I've sort of been off this week too.  and have been wondering what has me 'stuck', even though there are 3 or 4 things rolling in my mind --maybe it's like Joan said - I don't want to be too introspective.  Going back to the song -- it IS a wonderful world, even when there is so much to do, be done, and places where so much sad, so much pain. I and so many of us are so very, very fortunate. Have to work against the tide that would sweep us away into despair.
Sally - I tend not to write about real estate because most of it is already here so I write about things going on around me that may be of interest to others in my area and possible of interest to some here in the rain as well. I enjoy reading about other areas here in rainland.
PS: Hope your feeling better soon
Hi, I had missed this post. I was taken with your reference to the Fires last October. We were on the phone that night I was evacuated and I was at the drug store pharmacy getting some essentials and that was the fist time we had shared our voices. I will never forget. It was a significant time and one despite the fires was such a wonderful life enhancing time to cement a new permanent, cherished and for a lifetime friendship......................with you
