Look Out For Deer

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Results 20344949

Yesterday I hit a deer.  Not exciting news.  Apparently the deer are out this time of year in Minnesota so look out!

If you follow my blog at all you might be able to guess my reaction to this as I pulled to the side of the road with glass all over me and the inside for the car....

I first said, "I'm alive! Thank you God!"

Then noticed the deer I thought sure that I was going to hit head on I missed.  Unfortunately I hit her DEER friend on the side of my car and the hit broke my mirror which flung through the drivers side window and left glass all over.

Then I said, "Thank you Lord that it only hit the side of my car."

I had to adjust my schedule the rest of the day.  I later found a shop with a loaner car that was available and even though the heater does not work in that...I am still thankful for the transportation.

You see its not what happens to us in life, its how we handle what happens to us.  Its all a choice and I choose to have gratitude!  How will you react to adversity?

Oh deer!  The same thing happened to my mom here in north Idaho.  Left her without a headlight on one side, but thankfully she was all right.  Someone in a post today told of a person who called the department of transportation and asked for a deer crossing sign to be removed.  Why?  Because there were so many deer crossing in that spot that it was unsafe and she thought there must be a more safe location for them to cross!  Still scratching my head....

We have the Natchez Trace here in Mississsippi which is a National Parkway. There are tons of deer on the Trace many people hit every year. I with you it could have been much worse. Thank God for his protection. blessing Patti Herringotn

Chuck: I'm really glad that you weren't hurt!

My friend hit a deer while riding a motorcycle. He went down and the deer got hurt badly, and his motorcycle forever smelled of little bits of cooked deer! Ug!

I live in Monument, CO, and we've got a couple of deer that live in the area. They come thru my yard just about daily, looking for something to eat. Both are bucks, but one has only 3 1/4 legs. I think he might have had a run in with a car! He's a little slower than the other one, but I have seen him run from the neighbor's dog. And they've been coming around for a couple of years. Here's a photo of the 3-legged deer.

How did your deer fair? Did you have to call Animal Control to help the deer?

Bringing you home...

Chuck - Glad that you are safe! Deer can be terrible to a car. And so glad that you didn't hit her friend too.

Chuck- Glad to hear you and your car (and hopefully the deer) are safe! They can really dart out into the road without much warning. Let's all be careful out there on the road, especially at sunrise and sunset!
