Hello every one,

I'm back to my blogging, after being out of the loop for a while.  My husband and I was preparing for his departure to Iraq for the second time, so needless to say that was more important than anything at that moment.

We have a seven year old, who definitly feels the effect of not having daddy home, so keep us in your prayers.  So of course, it's all about maintaining the household while he is away, and if any of you have a loved one serving the great nation or you know of some one, then you know exactly what I mean.

So, here the first news for today, if you havn't heard of it yet, just keep watch you should start seeing promotional materials about the 2009 New Jersey Governor's Conference for Women.  They are going all out this coming year.

Here are the highlights:

Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Joseph V. Doria, Jr. today announced that award-winning poet, playwright and actress Maya Angelou will deliver the keynote address at the 2009 Governor's Conference for Women.  The conference is slated for Tuesday, May 12 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

The theme of the 2009 Governor's Conference for Women is "Shaping the Future."  Attendees will participate in a variety of workshops on women's health and wellness, personal and career development, and financial management in today's economic climate.

Additional conference highlights include a networking reception on Monday, May 11, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Crown Ballroom of the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel.  And back by popular demand, visit our enhanced health fair all day long for FREE health screenings and healthy giveaways.

Who is Dr. Maya Angelou, the Key Note Speaker for The 2009 Governor's Conference for Women?

Dr. Angelou is hailed as one of the great voices of contemporary black literature and as a remarkable Renaissance woman. She has the unique ability to shatter the opaque prisms of race and class between reader and subject throughout her books of poetry and her autobiographies. From "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" to her groundbreaking work in television and film, she has opened minds with her lyrical, beautiful poetry and writing.
