Each Home of the 7 homes on the tour will offer a dazzling array of stylish Christmas ideas and ways to prepare your home for the holidays. The support of the many volunteers, local business, home owners, musicians, decorators, and florists has enabled the Uxbridge Christmas Home Tour to raise $60,000 for local charitable organizations since its inception in 2004.
Your Passport / Ticket will include free gifts and discount coupons that will help you kick start your Christmas shopping. Tickets are available in Uxbridge from Canadian Tire, Blue Heron Books, Presents, Pebbles & Posies, in Port Perry from Perry Ann's and in Stouffville from Inside Out or by phone with Visa or MC at 905-982-0882.
The group that will benefit from this year's tour provides support and resources to families who have children with barriers to learning that can be either physical, developmental or behavioral. Information on their web site tells us there are over 2,000 children within a 50 kilometer radius of their Resource and Learning Centre.
The impact on families of children with barriers to learning can be significant. These children are more likely to have more limitations to normal behavioral, social or emotional function than their peers. They are less likely to finish high school, post secondary education or find employment that would provide an adequate wage or in some instances live independently.
Many local REALTORS® provide ongoing Support for local organization's and charitable groups. As I was writing this post I received an email from a client reminding me of another Christmas Home Tour in Stouffville that will Benefit another worthy local organization the Jennifer Ashleigh Children's Charity.
