The hardest job in the world, it seems
Is just to make a start,
And even when desire is strong,
This is the toughest part.
You put off things that should be done,
You wrestle with fear and doubt,
But the only time your ship comes in,
Is when you send it out!
You'll never win the prize you want,
You'll never find your place,
You'll only cross the finish line,
By getting in the race!
No one can do it for you,
You must do it by yourself.
What good are goals that gather up,
Dust upon a shelf?
The time to do it is always now,
You can't have a doubting heart,
The longer you wait, the harder it is,
To make that essential start.
The first step is always the hardest,
But once that step's begun,
The thing you thought you couldn't do
Is already half way done!
